BBC helps the rise of Redditch and Bromsgrove band Grafton Ash

LOCAL band ‘Grafton Ash’ are on the rise after recently being selected by BBC Hereford and Worcester to be filmed on their introducing stage at the annual Nozstock festival in Hereford last month, writes reporter Becky Ward.

The band, labelled by the team at BBC introducing as a ‘new and exciting band to watch out for’ performed in front of crowds of 5,000 at the festival with their set soon to be available to view on BBC iPlayer.

The gig at Nozstock followed performances at other festivals such as Shardfest, Birmingham and the upcoming Livestock festival, Gloucestershire on July 30 and means the band will have played with the likes of James Arthur, The Fratellis, Imelda May and Reverend and The Makers.

The group, which originally began as an ‘acoustic harmony duo’, comprising of Dan Roberts and Dan Blake from Bromsgrove but has now grown to encompass guitarist Stephen Ashford also from Bromsgrove and Sam Dimmick from Redditch, are also set to play their first headline show at The Rainbow, Birmingham on August 5.




There they will playing tracks from their currently unnamed EP which they hope to release by the end of this year.
