ALCESTER’S Cross Keys will welcome two up-and-coming acoustic performers at Jack Blackman’s Tuery Sessions this spring.
For some time now, whispers have been spreading far and wide around the new British Folk Scene about Chris Cleverley and his haunting tales of ghost women, lonesome clock towers, lovelorn mariners and hospital beds.
His debut album, which Chris himself describes as ‘very much grounded in British and American folk traditions’, features both original songs and arrangements of traditional tunes.
The second headliner is young country-pop singer and songwriter Paris Georgia.
A city girl with a country heart, Paris’ debut EP, ‘Stranger to You’, reached number two in the iTunes Country Chart – ahead of Taylor Swift and Dolly Parton on the day it was released.
And as if that wasn’t enough of a musical extravaganza, there will be an exclusive stripped-down performance by Surf’s Up, the UK’s greatest Beach Boys tribute.
The performance comes ahead of their gig celebrating 50 years of the legendary Pet Sounds album at Bromsgrove’s Artrix Theatre.
The fun will start at 6pm on April 10 and of course, will feature the Tuery Sessions raffle.
