Rising stars ready for Redditch Has Talent at the Palace Theatre

IT’S that time of year again and the Palace Theatre has once more gone out in search of local talent.

And the result is Redditch Has Talent 2016 featuring a selection of hand-picked finalists who have come through the audition process and now come together to show you that Redditch really does have talent covering a variety of artistic endeavour including music, dance, illusion, singing.

The date for your diary is this Thursday, June 30 for a great night of entertainment.

List of finalists




India Peart-Barr (16-18)

Singer. India has been performing since the age of 8 with various local groups and also took part in the School of Theatre Excellence performance in Solihull School. Recently she gained a place on the Foundation Course in Dance and Musical Theatre at the School of Theatre Excellence. India aims to perform professionally.


Amy Moynihan (10-13)

Solo violin. Amy has been playing violin for 7yrs as a soloist, part of Chamber Groups and in Symphony Orchestras. She also plays with the National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain and with the Birmingham Junior Conservatoire at many venues around the UK. Amy also plays Viola, Piano and Bass Guitar!

Gabrielle Haines (19+)

Singer. Gabrielle has taken part in school productions and was a member of a girl band who performed on a show called, ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ on Channel 5 when she was 15. Since attending University Gabrielle has not performed in public, but is looking forward to appearing in the RHT Final.

Alex Crawford (19+)

Magician. Alex is a member of the Magic Circle! So he should be quite good then! He has worked in Haven Holiday Centres as a resident entertainer and loves all types of entertainment.

Paul Mitchell (19+)

Singer/Musician. Paul has performed for the past 8 years with local musical/operatic/drama societies and takes his music back to its roots. He has appeared in several shows, including Jesus Christ Superstar, I Dreamed A Dream and Sweeney Todd. Paul will perform one of his own songs in the RHT Final.

Rhiannon Street (13-16)

Singer. A returning RHT Finalist from 2015 show, Rhiannon just loves to perform at every opportunity and is hoping to go one better this year and win her age group.

Elle Cross (16-18)

Singer. Elle was in the NODA winning production of ‘Les Miserables’ in 2013 and has been involved in 8 shows at the Palace Theatre between 2011 and 2015. She is now studying for her ‘A’ levels and has a particular passion for Opera and Musical Theatre.

Charlie Sample (10-13)

Singer/Pianist. Charlie has been singing and playing keyboard/piano since he was 5 years old and he is only 12 now! It is his one great passion and that shows in his performances.

Olivia Lizomon (10-13)

Classical Dance. Olivia will be performing a classical dance from South India wearing a traditional costume called ‘ Barathanatyam’. She performs her dance at many different occasions and celebrations and is looking forward to performing in the RHT Final.

Bethany Parry (13-16)

Clarinet. Bethany has gained a Distinction at Grade 8 with her Clarinet and is currently working towards her Grade 6 Performance Diploma on Alto Sax. She loves performing and has been in the Worcester Youth Orchestra, the Midlands Jazz Band and supported Julian Smith in a Charity show.

James Cookson (13-16)

Dancer. Another returning RHT Finalist from 2015. However, this time not part of a singing duo, but as a solo dancer. What a versatile young man! James stated dancing at the age of 6 and since he was 8 years old has taken part in dance competitions. Most recently he has performed with ‘Just Dance’ at the Palace Theatre. James also Choreographs his own dances.

Aleisha Aulton (10-13)

Singer. Another returning 2015 RHT Finalist, Aleisha just loves to sing and dance and is part of a dance group called ‘Team Revolution’ , which she really enjoys. However, she is here once again as a singer and her voice just keeps getting better.

Olivia Chapman (13-16)

Singer. Olivia also appeared as a finalist in the 2015 RHT, but is now stepping up to the next age group and is hoping to make an impression once again. She has been singing since she was 10 years old. Olivia enjoys a wide range of music, including Musical Theatre.
