Rooster crows as Babajack bring Blues to the Palace in Redditch on Friday 13th

AWARD winning British Blues outfit BabaJack are back at the Palace Theatre Redditch this Friday (November 13).

Becky has been named ‘Instrumentalist of the Year’ for the third time (2012, 2013 & 2015) and Trevor is a runner up as ‘Harmonica Player of the Year’.

They have been finalists for ‘Best Acoustic Act’ and the Rooster Album was runner up for ‘Best Album of 2012’. On top of this they were finalists at the European Blues Challenge 2012.

Becky Tate and Trevor Steger are the songwriting core of Babajack.

The band have released four albums in the last five years with each one gaining greater media attention and sales figures from the music loving public as their reputation continues to grow.

What sets Babajack apart from the others though is their approach to their music – it is recognisably infused in part by early blues but is in no way bound by that. Becky brings roots/funk/African rhythms to the band’s sound while Trevor brings his own mixture of ‘Punk meets Ry Cooder’ to his slide guitar and harmonica on his growling homemade ‘Winebox guitars’.

Add to this Becky’s beautiful, lyrical vocals and the driving rhythm section of Tosh Murase and Adam Bertenshaw and you have a band destined for success.

It’s curtain up at 7.45pm and tickets are available in person or at the box office on 01527 65203 priced £10.75 (disc) buy online at www.redditchpalacetheatre.co.uk .
