REDDITCH audiences can ensure the sun comes out tomorrow by treating themselves to a performance of family favourite ‘Annie’ at the town’s Palace Theatre this spring.

Studley Operatic Society will host the classic Broadway musical between Tuesday, April 19 and Saturday, April 23 at 7.30pm along with a matinee performance on Saturday at 2.30pm.

Theatre-goers will enjoy the tale of a plucky red-haired orphan who becomes the voice of hope for her fellow children living under the tyrannical supervision of orphanage boss Miss Hannigan.

Set during the Great Depression in 1930’s New York City, the show is packed full of memorable songs including It’s a Hard Knock Life, I Think I’m Going to Like it Here, Easy Street and Tomorrow.

In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations, befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and finds a new family and home in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

Studley Operatic Society welcome back Kevin Hirons as director alongside Alison Hirons and Norma Kift as musical director along with many of ‘The Producers’ principal cast.

The cast treated passersby to a performance of a couple of numbers from the show outside St Stephen’s Church last weekend, with two lucky fans taking home free tickets to opening night thanks to a prize draw in the Kingfisher Centre.
