THERE was breakdancing, teachers acting as backing-dancers and some serious serenading going on in Astwood Bank when teen heart-throb Kieran Alleyne came to Ridgeway Academy last week.

The twenty-year-old actor and RnB singer treated students to a performance on Monday (July 6) as an end of year treat before hosting a question and answer session.

Kieran, who is signed to Artistry Ent. and Virgin EMI, is most likely to be recognised for his role as Jimmy in the hit CBBC children’s sitcom Dani’s Castle.

“He was amazing – a genuine star,” said Clare Skinner, school business manager. “The kids absolutely loved him and are still talking about him almost a week later.”

The pop sensation performed half a dozen songs and encouraged teachers on to the stage to dance alongside him whilst he turned backflips and showcased other breakdancing moves.

Girls were left green with envy after Kieran invited year eight student Katie Stubbs onstage where he proceeded to serenade her following an energetic performance which saw him venture into the audience and sing sitting down amongst pupils.

“We all had a cracking time,” Clare added. “Kieran was fantastic, he spent around half an hour outside as he was leaving the school signing autographs and taking more than 400 selfies with the students.”
