STUDENTS at an innovative education programme for vulnerable young people near Redditch are celebrating a 100 per cent pass rate at their graduation event.
The 16 youngsters on the LandEd programme completed courses in animal care and countryside skills based at The Stables Farm Park in Astwood Bank. All the children had been excluded from school.
As part of their training, there were opportunities to care for various animals as well as learning forestry skills and growing produce – some of which was sold in The Stables farm shop.
Nina Willison, LandEd provision manager said: “The 100 per cent pass rate is incredible and students are also given internal apprenticeship opportunities at The Stables to enable them to gain valuable work experience in all the departments with some students gaining paid weekend and holiday work.”
