HUNDREDS of girls in Redditch are unhappy with their lives and almost a thousand are estimated to be struggling with the way they look, according to the latest Good Childhood Report.
The survey found an estimated 26,200 girls (one in seven) aged 10-15 across the West Midlands say they are not happy overall, while more than a third – 64,700- said they were not happy with their looks.
‘Unhappy’ refers to those who selected on or above the midpoint of a scale in the survey ranging from 1-7, on which 1 is ‘completely happy’ and 7 is ‘not at all happy’
Across the UK, an estimated 283,000 girls say they were unhappy with their lives overall and 700,000 reported feeling bad about their look.
