Figures have revealed there are more than 8,000 unpaid informal carers looking after family members and friends in Redditch.
New figures from Carers UK revealed there will be nine million carers in the UK by 2037 and one in five of us will be carers in our lifetime.
Carers Week, which runs from June 6, aims to highlight the challenges and raise awareness of caring, looking at building carer-friendly communities. Carers Careline is offering support at various events locally.
A spokesman from the self-funded charity said: “We want Redditch to recognise the invaluable contribution the unpaid carers living in the town make and we would like our community to help us raise awareness of the support we are able to offer.
“This will enable us to reach out to those carers who are in need of support but do not know where to turn.
“It is so important for us to do what we can to build carer-friendly communities where we can support carers to lead a happy healthy life for themselves and therefore maintain a positive contribution to the community.”
Carers Careline offers a drop-in service every week from Monday to Thursday from 10am-12 at the Ecumenical Centre, but will be offering a special week of events during Carers Week including:
Friday, June 3 Asda, Redditch -10am until 4pm
