ASPIRING fashion designers are stitching their way to success with the help of a well-known name.

Pupils from the Inkberrow Design Centre, based at the The Old Needle Works in Britten Street, took part in the in The Festival of Quilts Fashion show at the NEC, showcasing their creations alongside fashion designer Zandra Rhodes.

The event was organised by the Inkberrow centre’s director, Brenda Killigrew.

She said: “Our brief to the Young Designers was to use their sewing club sessions to produce garments inspired by the continents of the world using upcycled materials.

“They produced some fantastic crazy patchwork items including a Chinese Dragon and garments representing Africa, Europe and the Americas.”
