A peek behind the scenes of an Alcester business

AN ALCESTER businessman is opening the doors of his exclusive workshop this weekend to showcase the custom work that goes on behind the scenes of Bold Hydrographics Limited.

James Bowld, who was born and bred in the market town, moved into his premises on the Arden Forest Industrial Estate in January but has only been trading properly since April after several months of development.

It has been a labour of love for James Who still isn’t paying himself as he labours on to set up the business.

The company offers custom paintwork, car bodywork and restoration services alongside hydrographics – which is a printing process, otherwise known as hydro dipping, that involves dipping an item into a specialist film in a large tank of water.

The process can be applied to many different surfaces and offers an unlimited custom finish.

James has most recently worked on guns used on the set of Pathogen Films’ Patient Zero! mini series, which is currently being filmed in Alcester, and on bar pumps in time for the Zombie Pub Crawl.

“We can process all sorts of items and offer custom finishes – anything from picture frames and door handles to alloy wheels and car interior pieces,” James said.

The open day on Sunday (November 8) will run from 10am until 4pm and will see a local car club attend to present some of its vehicles, a ‘show and shine’ compeition and a small classic car display.

Any work booked during the event will also be subject to a discount, providing it is completed within three months.
