BUSINESS-savvy students from Tudor Grange Academy Redditch took on the best in Britain last week in the grand final of the national business and accounting competition.
Along the way the youngsters had overcome the challenges of more than 3,000 students on their way to the big event.
And although the team of six – Oliver Bushell, Molly Noke, Ella Maddocks, Hope Foster, Dan Mills and Jordan Walsh – didn’t come away with the top trophy they did win fulsome praise from their mentor and for their teamwork.
The event in question was the ICAEW BASE 2016 National Final at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel where the students were presented with a new, tough business challenge which required them to apply the knowledge, skills and experience they had gained during their studies.
The competition was then followed by a celebration dinner in the evening and entertainment for the final 48 teams.
The students were then able to enjoy the facilities of the hotel, including overnight accommodation and breakfast the following morning.
Teacher Martha James said “I am so proud of what they have achieved throughout this competition.
“They have been exceptional in representing the school and I know they are all going to go on and do great things in the future.”
