AN ALCESTER businesswoman is jumping for joy after her lingerie shop has been nominated for a prestigious award known as the ‘Oscars of the Lingerie Industry’.
Linda Randell of Linda Rose Lingerie and Swimwear is delighted to be one of 94 finalists of this year’s Stars Best Shop Awards, which were held last night (Thursday) at the UnderGlobe in Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, London.
She said: “I am really pleased, it is so lovely for the staff to be recognised – we really do make a lot of effort to make the shop and our customer service as good as it can be.
“We are very excited and proud – it’s good to have some positive news about a local retailer.”
The Stars Awards, organised by Underlines Magazine, draws together every sector of retailing in the UK and Ireland and Linda Rose Lingerie and Swimwear has been picked out of 460 nominations put forward by 24 leading brands.
The event is unique in the UK retail award scene as stores, shops and sites cannot nominate themselves but are put forward by the brands on the jury for their outstanding reputation, good business practice and good service.
The Market Place shop will represent the Best Reference (Specialist Shop) category.
Winners will be in with a chance of winning a trip to Paris, an overnight stay at an Eden Spa, one year’s membership of Fashion Association of Britain and all expenses paid trip to Moda Lingerie and Swimwear – a national trade event.
The Standard will catch up with Linda and her team next week to see how she got on.
