Architect to be honoured

Redditch Editorial 30th Aug, 2015 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

A SHOWCASE of Redditch talent at the Palace Theatre will be marked as a tribute to the architect who designed the building itself.

The Bertie Crewe Gallery will offically open on September 8 and exhibit the works of Christine Skirrow, Jenny Mann and Graham Wilson.

The exhibition will run for two months before it is changed to display the works of another three local artists.

Councillor Bill Hartnett, leader of Redditch Borough Council, said: “I think it is fantastic – we have so much talent on offer in Redditch and what better way to honour a true artist – Bertie Crewe – who gave us the Palace Theatre, a little gem in our town.”

The gallery will be open during box office hours with later openings on performance days.

Much of the artwork will be available for customers to buy and details of how they can be purchased are available from the box office.
