Arts groups urged to bid for award

A CALL has gone out for amateur groups to enter the ‘Oscars’ of the voluntary arts world.

Run by Voluntary Arts England, the EPIC awards stand for engagement, partnerships, innovation and creativity – one or more of which need to be demonstrated to be in with a chance.

The Arts in Redditch Network is writing to groups in the town encouraging them to enter, with winners and runners up in line for gift vouchers, free mentoring, art supplies and cash prizes.

Secretary Philip Roberts said: “As a judge in the final round of the 2014 EPIC Awards, I was impressed by the standard of creativity and innovation shown by many of the entries.

“But I am convinced that there are several amateur arts groups in Redditch which are more than capable of matching those standards, and being in with a chance in the finals.”

Visit epicawards.co.uk/how-to-enter/ before March 16 to apply.
