Attempted robbery at rugby club

Redditch Editorial 16th Jun, 2014 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

A GROUP of men in balaclavas fled following an attempted robbery at Alcester Rugby Club.

Four men entered the Birmingham Road club around 7.15pm on Sunday (June 15) where they threatened a member of staff and demanded to be given the takings.

But when the worker said he did not have access to them, the four robbers – who are described as being of large build – ran off towards the main road where it is believed they may have had a vehicle.

No weapons were seen and no-one was injured in the incident but officers would like to hear if anyone was spotted behaving suspiciously in the area.

Anyone with information is urged to call Warwickshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
