REDDITCH has two winners in the West Midlands heats of the British Chamber Business Awards.
Bee Lighting Ltd, an SME specialising in the design and manufacture of automotive lighting products, and Gemporia, an original, inspiring and ethical jewellery retailer, have been crowned winners in the regional heats for 2016.
Now in their 13th year, the Awards are a highlight of the business calendar, and pay tribute to the key role that local businesses play in driving the UK economy.
Bee Lighting Ltd won the Small Business of the Year Award, which recognises a company that has achieved consistent growth backed by a strong financial performance, while demonstrating a clear understanding of the markets it operates in.
Gemporia claimed the Best Use of Technology Award, which recognises a business that has fully exploited the range of technology available to them to grow their business.
This regional success follows both businesses winning their category in the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber Business Awards in June 2016. Both will now go forward to represent the West Midlands in the national finals, which take place in London in November.
Out of seven categories, Worcestershire businesses have claimed five of the awards for the West Midlands. The other winners include: Vision Labs Limited, Kidderminster – Commitment to People Development; RGS Worcester – Education and Business Partnership; and Waste Spectrum Environmental Limited, Worcester – Exporter of the Year.
Steve Bennett, founder of Gemporia, said: “Gemporia are delighted to have won the award for Best Use of Technology. We pride ourselves on offering our customers the best user experience possible through our use of technology so to be recognised for this is a huge achievement.”
