Beth’s jumping for Acorns

A STANDARD delivery girl will be swapping papers for a parachute to raise money for Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Beth Avery will be taking to the sky on Sunday (October 12) after reading about the charity’s work in a PSHE lesson at school.

The 16-year-old, who has dyspraxia and dyslexia, said she wanted to highlight the bravery of children and young people as well as the families supported by Acorns.

But she was too young at the time to take on the challenge and had to wait until she was 16.

The Astwood Bank resident said: “I know it’s going to be a bit scary but I really hope by doing this I can help to make just a little bit of a difference to those children and young people less fortunate than myself.”
