Big Breakfast hailed a success

Redditch Editorial 19th Mar, 2015 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

THE ANNUAL Big Breakfast event in Tardebigge has been hailed another great success after more than 400 people went along.

The event, organised in conjuction with Bromsgrove Farmers Club, generated £3,390 which, after the expenses were taken out, saw £1,500 raised for two charities – Cancer Research UK Ltd and the Primrose Hospice.

Donations are still coming in, so the grand total could be even more.

On the menu was a mouthwatering multitude of items from sausages, bacon, fried eggs, scrambled eggs and black pudding to cereal, toast and fresh fruit.

Organiser Helen Hirons said: “A big thank you to everyone who gave up their Saturday to cook, serve, clear, wash up. everyone who donated food and services and to everyone who supported us on the day.

“It is a massive amount of money to give to two very worthwhile charities.”

Next year’s date has already been set – that will take place on March 12, 2016.
