Borough brightened up

GREEN-FINGERED girls and boys helped brighten up a borough road as part of this year’s Redditch in Bloom.

A total of 30 lupins were planted along Swansbrook Lane by pupils from Feckenham First School, helped by officers from Redditch Borough Council.

The plants, which were donated by Feckenham Parish Council, will form part of the borough’s Heart of England in Bloom entry this summer.

Wayne Beard, one of the lead officers for the Redditch in Bloom campaign, said: “Not only is it educational for the pupils, it is also a great way for us to engage with the local community, the parish council and the school. The children always work really hard and are enthusiastic which makes it a pleasure for us to be involved with.”
