POLICE have been informed of a possible scam involving ‘builders’ marking houses as burglary targets.
The alarm was raised in Studley after two householders reported workmen coming round and offering to clean gutters ‘for half price’.
The workmen would then put a chalk mark on the side of house if it was a target for thieves.
Other instances include workmen leaving a blob of cement outside a home in Crooks Lane in Studley after the householder refused their cut price offer to clear their gutters.
