Businesses to be proud of sought

BUSINESSES giving something back to the community are being sought for this year’s Pride of Redditch Awards.

Nominations are flowing in for this year’s event at South Redditch Social Club in Greenlands on Friday, December 12 which will celebrate the borough’s unsung heroes.

As well as recognising the good deeds of individuals, organiser Rebecca Blake, Labour’s Parliamentary spokeswoman for Redditch and borough councillor, is also seeking nominations for companies which have contributed to the town.

She said: “There are a lot of businesses doing good work by either raising money for charity or volunteering their time in the community which often goes unnoticed.

“As part of this year’s event I wanted to take the time to put this right and recognise the valuable contribution the business community makes to the life of our town.”

The Redditch and Alcester Standard is once again sponsoring the awards which last year recognised 26 worthy individuals and groups.

Nominations for businesses or individuals can be made by filling in the form on this page and posting it to Pride of Redditch Awards, Redditch Standard, Webb House, Church Green East, B98 8BP or by email to [email protected] with the name of the person nominated, the reason for nominating them and your contact details, including a daytime telephone number.

Closing date for entries is 5pm on Friday, November 14.
