AN ALCESTER café has been chosen as one of the locations in a new children’s television programme.

Film crews from Ragdoll Productions descended on Venue Xpresso in the High Street earlier this month to shoot for the as yet untitled new show which will air on CBeebies early next year.

The programme involves a mixture of animated characters and real actors.

Carol Lane, one of the owners of Venue Xpresso, said: “We were approached six weeks ago by the location manager who was after a typically french style attractive coffee house with an outside seating area which we have.

“On the day of filming there were no less than 25 crew members working for 12 hours.

“I never realised how involved and how much work goes into creating a program, every shot had to be set up, measured, lenses altered, ready for the animation process which will be added back at the studios.”
