REDDITCH police have released CCTV images as part of their on-going appeal for witnesses or information following an armed robbery at the Simply Local Store in Dilwyn Close, Matchborough.

At around 9.10am on Monday, May 30, two men wearing dark clothing with their faces covered, entered the store and threatened the shopkeeper with a crow bar and a small axe before making off towards Felton Close with some of the shop’s takings.

Detective Constable Nick Gianfagna from West Mercia Police said: “We are hoping that the release of these images may help to trigger someone’s memory about events surrounding that morning.

“Thankfully no-one was hurt in the robbery, but it left the shop worker very shaken. We are extremely keen to track down the offenders and urge anyone who may have seen anything to contact police. Any information, no matter how small, could help our investigation.”
