ALMOST 100 cannabis plants were seized from two properties over the weekend.

Officers went to a flat in Cherry Tree Walk, Batchley, just before 8am on Saturday (April 26) after Redditch Borough Council reported there was water leaking from it into the flat below. They found 71 plants and growing equipment in two rooms.

A further 16 plants in various stages of growth were seized after they were found in a garden in Garway Close, Matchborough, around midnight on Sunday (April 27) after police responded to a report of a disturbance there.

A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and cultivating cannabis. He remains in custody being questioned by detectives.

Anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
