AN ELDERLY man had £200 stolen from him in broad daylight while using a cash machine in the town centre.

The 70-year-old was using a Halifax ATM machine on Evesham Street during 11am and 12.15pm on Wednesday (November 26).

He was approached by two men who distracted him while a third man withdrew the money.

The thieves also targeted a 21-year-old man at the HSBC cash machines on Church Green West, but failed to take any money on that occasion.

Police are urging residents to be on guard while withdrawing money and to report any suspicious activity to police.

Anyone with any information on the incidents should contact West Mercia Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
