A GREEN fingered student has beaten more than 1,300 candidates for a place on a ground-breaking training programme.
Adam Wearing, of Lodge Park, is one of 18 youngsters who will take part in the Homebase Garden Academy, offering him an opportunity to develop his gardening skills.
The budding gardener even had the chance to work at the RHS Chelsea Flower show alongside award-winning designer Adam Frost.
Adam said It was a great opportunity and he was delighted to be involved in such a rewarding scheme.
“By working with Homebase, I have the opportunity to do something special and inspire the next generation of gardeners,” he said.
