WISHES were granted for creative children from Redditch as they got to meet a Fairy Godmother.

Winners of a Palace Theatre poster competition visited the venue on Tuesday (December 9) to meet Anne Charleston, the former Neighbours actress playing the role in this year’s pantomime.

It came after first schools from the borough were asked to design a poster incorporating a Cinderella and environmental theme.

St Stephen’s First School pupils were picked as the winning school and their posters will be displayed at the Palace throughout the panto’s run.

Theatre manager Tim Mackrill said: “The idea of the competition was to encourage pupils to think about the environment and get into the festive spirit at the same time. We were really impressed with all the entries we received and it was clear that a lot of hard work and thought had gone in to all of them.”
