BUDDING singers are invited to find out more about joining Alcester Male Voice Choir at an annual open evening.

The event will take place at The Jubilee Centre in St Faiths Road from 7.30pm on September 10.

The choir has already had a special year with the celebration of its 40th anniversary and founder Judith Land being awarded the British Empire Medal in the New Years honours list.

Judith is now aiming to reach the next landmark.

She said: “We always do well at our recruitment evening, we are a large, busy and successful choir with an excellent reputation both locally and further afield.

“Our membership stands at just over 80, with members drawn from all over the area and all walks of life.

“I have always hoped to achieve a membership of 100 and if we could achieve that this September then it would make this special year complete.”

There is no audition process but members must be able to commit to weekly rehearsals on a Wednesday.
