Meanwhile the big-hearted group has received a commendation as a Volunteer Team of the Year 2016.

The community-run group, which aims to make Redditch a better place to live, received the award at the Volunteering Celebratrion and Awards event at The Hive in Worcester last month.

The event was to recognise the work of volunteers as part of National Volunteering Week.

Big Local developmeent worker Chris Thomas said: “The category received a huge amount of nominations from throughout Worcestershire, so this is a fantastic achievement.

“I have always been so impressed with the commitment and enthusiasm shown by CHBL members and all the volunteers who give up countless hours of their time to help make Church Hill an even better place to live.

“The group should all be proud of what they have achieved and the difference they are making and will continue to make in the local community.”
