Cinderella having a ball on schools tour

CINDERELLA has been going to the ball – and to schools around Redditch as part of a smash-hit pantomime.

The St Augustine’s High School version of the festive treat has been performed by Year 10 GCSE drama students at the Stonepits Lane school itself as well as venues across the town including St Bede’s and Ridgeway Middle Schools.

A spokeswoman said: “In typical pantomime style, audiences have been invited to participate throughout the performance in supporting Buttons in his quest to woo Cinders and in responding to the ugly sisters Britney and Whitney. However, audiences of this pantomime have also received a drenching from the latter as the two sisters drew their water pistols at the unsuspecting audience.

“The cast have all sung, danced and superbly characterised the favourite characters as well as delighted audiences with some surprising new ones.”
