Club gets go ahead to expand

Redditch Editorial 16th Apr, 2015 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

A BOROUGH club has been given the green light to extend.

Fever, on Market Place, will undergo a significant revamp and extension after Redditch Borough Council’s planning committee gave the plans the go-ahead.

The club will convert the space of former offices on the first floor by using the space of former offices, while the bar would also be extended and the toilets updated.

The entire ground floor will also undergo a refurbishment, which includes installing a new stairwell to link to the first floor.

All of the work will be internal and no alterations will be made to the outside of the building.

A significant sum of money will be pumped into the venue by the owners, who run 15 clubs across the country, and it is hoped the extension will increase the capacity.

The go-ahead follows the closure of what was the town’s biggest nightclub, Area Club.

A planning application has been submitted to transform that building into 27 flats.
