THE crowds flocked to Cool by the Pool in Batchley last Saturday (July 18) turning it into a brilliant day out for all the family.
“It was a really nice day, there was a really good vibe and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves – it was like all of Batchley had come out,” said community worker Paul Woodcock.
“The community really pulled together and as a consequence the bands were great and the stallholders all had a good time.”
And he singled out the fund raising efforts of resident Mark Southam who collected over £120 for the Batchley Summer Playscheme.
“Thanks to the bands, the volunteers, the trustees and the residents it just goes to show that Batchley knows how to have a good time without the drama.”
The next community event in the area will be Yule by the School later in the year.
