A FORMER UKIP councillor has been interviewed by police over racist and homophobic comments.
Redditch Borough councillor David Small was voluntarily interviewed on Friday (May 30) after a member of the public raised concerns over comments he made on Facebook and during a radio interview.
The 81-year-old was expelled by the party following the Standard’s probe into his social media activity.
He was not arrested and a property in the borough was searched by police to gather evidence.
Supt Kevin Purcell, North Worcestershire Police commander, said: “Once all investigations are complete a file will be submitted to the CPS for their consideration.”
