THE county of Warwickshire has voted against joining a West Midlands Combined Authority.
It said its prefered devolution model was a Coventry-Warwickshire Combined Authority and will set up a task group to examine alternative devolution models.
County leader Councillor Izzi Seccombe said: “The council felt strongly that joining the West Midlands Combined Authority would not be in the best interests of our residents, which has to be our primary concern and focus.”
Stratford district council, which falls within Warwickshire, has meanwhile expressed an interest in joining the West Midlands Combined Authority.
