A CHURCH near Redditch has announced the date of its popular annual Snowdrop Festival.
St Leonard’s Church in Beoley will host the event on Saturday and Sunday, February 14 to 15.
As well as the snowdrop-covered grounds of the church, there will be lots of attractions including the winners of this year’s photographic competition and a talk on family tree research with the chance to view original records from birth, marriage and death records from 1800.
There will also be the results of research done on the names of those who died in The Great War listed on the war memorial outside the church and examples of work done by Beoley Stitch craft and the Craft and Chat Group.
The famous tombs of the Sheldon family will also be on show at the event, which runs 10am to 4.30pm on Saturday and 12.30pm to 4pm Sunday. At 5.30pm on the Sunday, Rev Paul Irving will also be conducting a special marriage affirmation service to mark Valentine’s Day.
Rev Irving said: “Everyone loves snowdrops as they are such a welcome sign that Spring is well and truly on its way so we hope that people will come along and enjoy this event with us.”
