PUPILS and staff from a borough school joined forces to fund-raise for a bereavement charity which helped one of its pupils.
Teaching assistants Louise Ganderton, Julia Lippiatt and Tracey Harrison from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic First School, teamed up with a group of children to create loom bands and homemade cakes to sell for Touchstones.
The charity specialises in children’s bereavement and provides a specialist support service for those who have lost loved ones.
Year 3 pupil David Skerrett wanted to raise funds for the charity after using its services since his parents passed away within a few years of each other.
The eight-year-old particularly enjoyed spending time with Vicki Quarton from the charity who has helped him deal with the loss.
A total of £884.45 was raised and the cheque was presented to the organisation on Tuesday (July 15).
