RUNNING through the streets of the second city helped a Redditch resident raise £250 for Diabetes UK.
Carina Maunder took part in the Bupa Great Birmingham Run, a half-marathon in the city centre, after only taking up jogging this year.
The 33-year-old, who is now hoping to take part in the London Marathon, said: “I chose to run for Diabetes UK as I’ve become more aware of the condition after reading about it in the newspaper and from the people I work with at B&Q who have diabetes.
“I had no idea diabetes could be so serious. There are so many people with the condition I wanted to do something to help them.”
