A TOWN centre recruitment firm is gathering food to help families in need over Christmas.

Staff at eResponse, which is based on Church Green West, are urging people to drop off donations of non-perishable food which will go to the borough’s food bank at St Stephen’s church.

People are invited to give food such as tinned goods, rice, pasta, instant mash, as well as juice cartons and instant coffee, which can be handed in from Monday to Friday from 8.30am until 5pm.

Staff are also keen to collect Christmas sweets and chocolate for children, and household items such as nappies, washing powder and toothpaste.

Branch manager Trudy Harding, said: “To someone doing the big Christmas shop it can mean as a little as a couple of extra tins. To someone in crisis, it is an enormous help.”
