CANNABIS and a large amount of cash were seized from a property near the town centre.

Redditch Safer Neighbourhood Team and Force Operations used a drugs warrant to search the building on Other Road last Thursday (July 3).

A quantity of cannabis was found as well as a large amount of cash and two men, aged 28 and 32, were arrested on suspicion of supplying cannabis.

They were taken to Kidderminster Police Station for questioning and both have been released on police bail until Thursday, September 11.

PC Richard Field, of Abbey Safer Neighbourhood Team, said the operation focused on a number known targets after several tip-offs were received from the public.

“To reassure the communities affected in the current series of drug warrants, police are stepping up patrols where members of the public can speak to their local police officer should they wish too.”

Anyone with any information about drug related crime should call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Anyone wanting to speak to the neighbourhood team can do so at the next Partners and Communities Together meeting is on Thursday, July 17, at 7pm in Arthur Jobson House on Gibbs Road.
