A DERELICT Redditch building is getting a £1.5million investment to transform it into a new homeware and furniture shop.
Dunelm will be taking over the old Staples building on Grove Street on October 3, creating 30 new jobs in the town. The new 30,000 sq ft store will feature a separate mezzanine floor, cafe and more than 20,000 products to choose from.
Store manager Mark Tomkins said: “We are looking forward to becoming a new neighbour to the Redditch community. There is a strong retail offering within the town but we’ve spotted a gap in the market for Dunelm’s extensive collection of homewares and hope we can cater for the diverse range of shoppers within the community.
“We have an exciting opening day planned and we hope the local community will join us on Monday 3 October. In the meantime, we are looking for enthusiastic members of staff to join us from sales assistants to team leaders.”
