HUNDREDS of visitors from as far away as Nottingham and Leicester descended on a Beoley church at the weekend.
Crowds turned out for the annual Snowdrop Weekend at St Leonard’s Church, which this year saw mayor Pat Witherspoon presenting prizes as part of the event’s first ever photography competition.
Plant sales alone raised more than £600 for the church and other attractions included a talk from Michael Sharpe of the Bromsgrove branch of the Birmingham and Midland Society for Genealogy and Heraldry.
Original birth, marriage and death records from 1800 were on show as well as work carried out by Robin and Ann Simons on the men who served in the Great War and are listed on the war memorial outside the church.
