Estate agent move to help coffers

A BOROUGH estate agent is hoping to help teenage cancer sufferers by adding to the total of a charity event.

Lorraine Hidderley and the team from Bodyshop in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre raised £1,400 through an evening at Rocklands Social Club last Friday (November 14), which will be divided between the Teenage Cancer Trust and Jamie Price, who was diagnosed with cancer last year, to go away on a luxury weekend with his girlfriend.

Organisers have now teamed up with Jeremy McGinn to offer residents the chance to bid via an email auction for a house move at 50 per cent of the agent’s normal fees.

The winning bidder must move in the next 12 months but will not have to pay the reduced fees or their donation to charity until the sale of their home goes through. In the event of the highest bidder not selling their house by the end of 2015, the second highest bidder will be offered the deal.

Mr McGinn said: “We are delighted to support such a worthwhile charity and were particularly impressed with the commitment of the local people supporting this event.”

E-mail [email protected] with a name, bid, telephone number and address before 5.30pm on December 15.
