Families bin £700 of food a year

Redditch Editorial 27th Jan, 2015 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

FAMILIES throw about £700 worth of perfectly good food into the bin each year.

Worcestershire County Council is calling on residents to do more to reduce the amount they bin following research revealing the extent of the problem.

As part of the Love Food Hate Waste campaign residents can access information online as well as download a free app featuring portion planners and meal planning diaries, a My Kitchen option to reminder users of the ‘use by’ dates of food in fridges and cupboards and a My Cookbook section for budding chefs to log their own recipe creations.
