A MAN has died this morning (Monday) after a serious crash between a lorry and a car in Winyates.
Emergency services, including fire crews from both Redditch and Droitwich, were called to Alders Drive at around 7.55am where the driver of the car was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
An ambulance crew arrived at Alders Drive within six minutes of the 999 emergency call and was backed up by a paramedic area support officer.
Upon arrival the team found a police officer carrying out CPR on the driver of the car.
Ambulance staff took over, but it quickly became apparent that unfortunately nothing could be done to save the man and he was sadly confirmed dead at the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The man driving the lorry was checked over by ambulance staff but was unhurt, if badly shaken by the incident which badly damaged both vehicles.”
Roads are currently closed in the area and police advise commuters to take alternative routes.
