COMMUNITY groups and organisations need to take advantage of funding opportunities on offer.
That was the message from Redditch MP Karen Lumley following her Creative Arts Fair held at Southcrest Manor Hotel recently.
Those present had the opportunity to talk to grant giving bodies including Arts Council England, the Heritage Lottery Fund, Worcestershire County Council, Redditch Borough Council and Redditch Arts Council about opportunities on offer. It followed a general Funding Fair held in 2013 and two jobs fairs and an apprentice fair she has hosted since 2010.
Mrs Lumley said what was clear was there were opportunities available but people were often not aware of what was on offer.
“We must do more to ensure that people are able to identify the funding and opportunities they need.
“I am also aware for some, the application processes for funding can be daunting. I am sure now numerous Redditch arts projects have had the opportunity to meet with funding providers they will feel more comfortable approaching them for funding.”
