A REDDITCH Marks and Spencer employee has been thanked for her four decades of service.

Anne Andrews began her career in the Birmingham store at 19-years-old and worked there for 11 years before moving to the Redditch branch and becoming a section coordinator on the women’s wear department.

The 61-year-old enjoyed working for the company so much she convinced her mother to join them and she was part of their team until she retired in 1985. Her daughter Holly also followed in their footsteps and worked for the retailer between her studies.

Anne said: “There’s simply nowhere else on the High Street that I’d rather work. I whole-heartedly believe in what the company is trying to achieve. I have some fond memories of my time with the company, and I’m still in touch with friends I made when I first joined in 1975.”

Anne joined 60 other employees being recognised for their many years at the store who have collectively tallied 2,100 years experience.
