A KIND-HEARTED youngster has raised nearly £2,500 after a powerful film inspired her to have her hair shaved off.

Freya Taylor-Saul, from Hollywood, decided to fund-raise for Children with Cancer UK and donate all her hair to the Little Princess Trust after watching The Fault In Our Stars last summer.

The hit film, based on a book by John Green, follows the story of Hazel Grace, a teenager who has lung cancer and has to carry around an oxygen tank as a result.

The ten-year-old Coppice Primary School pupil has so far raised £2,387.50 for the cause and her hair will be made into wigs for children who have lost their own through cancer.

She said the film made her realise how lucky she was and inspired her to help others in a similar situation while making people look and understand the effects of cancer.

She added: “Thank you to everyone who has helped me raise money for my charity.

“The first night with no hair was very weird and different, especially when it came to bedtime. But now that I have got used to it I love it.

“Lots of people have said that it suits me, which I think is true .”
