Good reason for tough test

Redditch Editorial 25th Sep, 2014 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

TAKING on a gruelling 10km obstacle course around the streets of Cardiff will push most people’s bodies to the limit.

But Martin Carver is planning to go one step further by tackling the course in a full nuclear, chemical and biological suit.

Martin, who works as a fitness instructor at the Abbey Stadium, will compete in the Men’s Health Survival of the Fittest event on Sunday (September 28). As well as completing the unforgiving course around the Welsh capital he will also have to tackle a variety of obstacle zones.

But the efforts of the former paratrooper, whose son is in the Royal Marines, will not be for nothing as Martin will be raising money for SSAFA, which looks after the families of soldiers, sailors and airmen and is one of the oldest military charities in the country.

To sponsor Martin contact Glyn Cardy on 01527 547072 or 07411214460.
