A FORMER Palace Youth Theatre member is rising to fame as he takes to the stage across the country.

Borough resident Griffin Mosson has a starring role in the play Tweet Tweet which will be at the Repertory Theatre in Birmingham, the town’s Palace Theatre as well as venues in Liverpool and Ipswich.

The talented 18-year-old will take on the role of Mason in the story about a friend’s death and how technology is at the forefront of how they deal with it.

Griffin was a member of the youth theatre for five years, performing in a variety of shows including Peter Pan, Bugsy Malone and Animal Farm.

He said: “When I went for the audition I never expected to get a part; there was some really tough competition.

“It is a privilege to perform at a theatre like the REP and get the chance to tour in other theatres around the country.

“I have to thank PYT for helping me to get where I am today. Without them none of it would be possible so I would urge anyone interested to join the group – who knows where it may lead.”

Lizzi Sifford, Youth Theatre and Arts Officer, said: “We are so proud of what Griffin has achieved and that we could help along the way.”
